No. You can create your account without any payment details. To open your vault you choose a plan and pay through your PayPal account. There is no free plan: your vault is funded by your subscription, never by advertising or your data.

Nothing is deleted. You can cancel at any time through PayPal or by writing to support, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. After that your vault is locked, and it opens again as soon as you subscribe. You can close your account and delete your vault at any time, even without a plan.

Yes. You can move up to the Family plan whenever you like. It starts as soon as you approve it in PayPal, and the new price applies from your next payment. To move down, write to support. Paying yearly costs about two months less than paying monthly.

One subscription covers up to 4 family members. Each person gets their own private vault with every Complete feature, and chooses, person by person, which sections to share with the others, or none at all. If the person paying stops or dies, members keep access through a grace period and anyone in the family can take the plan over.

The Will Builder guides you through creating a will for England & Wales and produces a document ready to print, with signing and witnessing instructions. Like any will, it becomes legally valid only once it is printed and signed in front of two independent witnesses. If your affairs are complex, we recommend taking a solicitor's advice.

A second password, separate from your login, that unlocks the key your vault is encrypted with. You choose it the first time you open your vault, and we store only a bcrypt hash of it. Even someone who got into your account couldn't read your vault without it. Keep it safe: if it is ever lost, recovery needs a signed written request and is recorded in your activity log.
